• Reduced Homelessness: Wrote and passed HB943 (Act 299) which created a statewide system to triage, treat, and redirect homeless individuals—especially those with mental health or substance use issues—away from jails and emergency rooms into coordinated healthcare and support services.

• Increased Affordable Housing Access: Helped to pass HB703 (Act 282), which extended the state rent supplement program for our Kupuna.

• Supported Education and Teachers: Helped pass bills expanding free school meals, improving student well-being, modernizing assessments and strengthening school infrastructure. Ikaika also supported HB1890, providing annual teacher step increases and longevity pay to improve recruitment and retention.
